About The Beginner’s Guide to Dressmaking
The Projects in the BookBrimming with full-scale patterns and comprehensive projects that’ll keep you busy throughout the whole of summer, this is your definitive guide to all your dressmaking needs! With multi-sized patterns and to-scale projects in full-colour, The Beginner’s Guide to Dressmaking offers heaps of information on useful techniques and ways to customise your clothing to suit you.

The book is divided into 3 sections – Projects, Techniques, and Customising. Some of the areas covered are working with fabric, using paper patterns, sewing seams and hems, sewing machine basics, and so much more. If you work your way through the book, you’ll gain a really good basic understanding on dressmaking.

The book is aimed at anyone with a burning desire to make their own clothes, but is daunted by the sewing patterns available. With step-by-step instructions and clear diagrams, the Beginner’s Guide to Dressmaking is an essential for anyone who is looking to build on their sewing abilities, but also offers plenty of practical information to hobbyists and sewing enthusiasts. And if you don’t want one, it makes for a fantastic gift!

About Wendy:
T-Shirt CuttingWendy has spent over 7 years teaching adults how to sew, and runs MIY Collection, where she sells her sewing patterns. With time, she noticed a gap in the market for a book that included full-size patterns for every-day clothing. According to Wendy, “just because someone likes to sew or wants to learn to sew, doesn’t mean everyone likes the same kind of design – just like when you’re shopping for ready-to-wear clothing, we each have our own style”. That’s where Wendy wanted to use her vast experience and  in the fashion industry to create everyday simple clothing that can be widely adapted to suit many different styles and trends.
