The Sewing Bee Christmas special is nearly here!

All I want for Christmas is the The Great British Sewing Bee special! Luckily, we can look forward to another episode this December. It’s such a fun, festive watch – I can’t wait to see what they all get up to this year.

Judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant are setting three challenges for this year’s celebrities, as they sew a variety of creative projects. I was also overjoyed to see Sara Pascoe will be returning to present this episode. I’ve loved all the presenters, but have a fondness for Sara.

The contestants

Taking on this years’s challenges are singer and actor Ian “H” Watkins, EastEnders actor Kellie Bright, comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri and TV personality and businesswoman Charlotte Crosby.

The challenges

The celebrities’ first challenge (the pattern challenge) will be to put their own twist on an advent calendar. I’m intrigued to see four different versions of a sewn advent calendar! In the transformation challenge, the contestants will be turning old onesies into a Christmas-themed children’s costume. The festive made to measure is inspired by their favourite Christmas number ones. I assume there’ll be a fun playlist for this one!

When to tune in

You can watch this year’s Christmas special on BBC One at 9pm on 19th December 2024. You can also catch up on iPlayer when it suits you.
