Ever heard of a brand named Marc by Marc Jacobs? Who am I kidding? Of course you have! Well the little sister diffusion line of the Marc Jacobs brand, is up for a revamp, with two talented Brits at the helm!
Previously in charge of the watches and jewellery sector of the brand, Katie Hillier has been named as new creative director for the brand. As second in command, Hillier has nominated British designer Luella Bartley, creator of the fashion brand Luella, as womenswear design director. They have since shown their first collection at New York Fashion Week last week, reinventing the label with on-trend pieces, both wearable yet quirky. Frills, Logos, Metallics and checks, this collection has got it all.
I know thats this may be old news to some of you fashionistas, but the most exciting thing of all? The brand is up for a name change. Rumour has it that Jacobs has never been a fan of the diffusions line’s name, and with his handing over of the reigns, a name change has never felt more appropriate!
So what will it be? Something subtle and similar or a leap away from the world of Marc Jacobs? It was set to be announced after the show last week in New york, but a name has yet to surface – keeping us on our toes as always!
