Georgia May Jagger has already been involved in some exciting campaigns, but her latest collaboration with Ashley Williams for Dazed Magazine’s spring/summer 2015 issue (out on April 9) is definitely one of the most quirky ones out there.
The British model’s modern interpretation of the beloved Disney character, Minnie Mouse, was shot by photographer Sharif Hamza and styled by Elizabeth Fraser-Bell, the Daily Mail reports. The campaign shows Jagger in some of Williams’ bespoke looks, including a mouse ears hat and a black PVC skirt with Minnie’s image on it.
It’s all part of a photographic exhibition, supported by the British Fashion Council and will form part of the “Minnie Style” exhibition that’s taking place during London Fashion Week in September 18th to the 22nd.
So, why is this exciting? Because we always appreciate when fashion is fun and the campaign is reminiscent of most of our childhoods, all while celebrating the ways that Minnie Mouse has influenced the fashion world since her beginnings in 1928. Jagger has also called on Minnie fans to submit their own ideas on Instagram via the hashtag #minniestyleuk – so it’s something we can all get in on.
Speaking of the collaboration, Jagger said, ”I’ve always been a Minnie fan so I’m really excited to be working on this campaign, showing how pop culture can influence fashion in a way that encourages excitement and creativity. Minnie is fun, independent and super-stylish, and it was great working with Ashley and Dazed Magazine to create a modern British interpretation of this, and provide inspiration for the exhibition.”
